Gwadar East Bay Expressway
Gwadar East Bay Expressway ( ur, , bal, دیمی زر بزرگرہ) is a municipal expressway in Gwadar, Balochistan, Pakistan. The six lane expressway was inaugurated by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on 3 June 2022. It connects Gwadar Port to the Makran Coastal Highway. The Gwadar Port Authority is supervising the project. The project is developed as part of the "Early Harvest" scheme of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and is part of a wider development package for the city and Port of Gwadar. The cost of the project is approximately , and will be financed by interest-free loans extended by China's state owned banks. Pakistan will be required only to repay the principal value of the loan. As a condition for receiving a zero-interest rate loan, bidding for the project was limited to Chinese state-owned companies, and the contract was awarded on a government-to-government basis. China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) (; ur, چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری) is a collection of infrastructure projects that are under construction throughout Pakistan beginning in 2013. Originally valued at $47 billion, the value of CPEC projects is worth $62 billion as of 2020. CPEC is intended to rapidly upgrade Pakistan's required infrastructure and strengthen its economy by the construction of modern transportation networks, numerous energy projects, and special economic zones. Gwadar Port
The Gwadar Port ( ur, ) is situated on the Arabian Sea at Gwadar in Balochistan province of Pakistan and is under the administrative control of the Maritime Secretary of Pakistan and operational control of the China Overseas Port Holding Company. The port features prominently in the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) plan, and is considered to be a link between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Maritime Silk Road projects. It is about southwest of Turbat, and to the east of Chabahar Port ( Sistan and Balochistan Province in Iran). Makran Coastal Highway
The N-10 or National Highway 10 (Urdu: ) is a 653 km national highway in Pakistan which extends along Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast from Karachi in Sindh province to Gwadar in Balochistan province. It passes the towns of Ormara and Pasni. Background The idea of exploiting the potential of the large coastal belt was under discussion for a long time.
