Guy Walker
Guy Walker (born 12 September 1995) is an Australian cricketer. He was born in Nottinghamshire whilst his father, Lyndsay Walker, was playing county cricket for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. He made his Twenty20 (T20) debut for Melbourne Renegades in the 2015–16 Big Bash League season on 19 December 2015. In late 2018, Walker signed as an Australian rules football rookie with Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne, but retired due to a shoulder nerve injury one year later without having played an AFL game. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Nottinghamshire (; abbreviated Notts.) is a landlocked county in the East Midlands region of England, bordering South Yorkshire to the north-west, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. Lyndsay Walker
Lyndsay Nicholas Peter Walker (born 22 June 1974) is a former Australian cricketer who represented Nottinghamshire in English county cricket. He played as a wicket-keeper. Walker was born in Armidale, New South Wales. He left Australia in 1992 to play in England, qualifying for Nottinghamshire by residency. Walker made his first-class debut in July 1994, in a match against the touring South Africans. He made his County Championship debut in 1996, and his limited-overs debut shortly after, in the 1996 NatWest Trophy. In the 1997–98 off-season, Walker sustained a hand injury that ended his professional playing career, despite several operations to repair it. In total, he made twelve first-class and three List A appearances for Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Nottinghamshire. Melbourne Renegades
The Melbourne Renegades are an Australian professional men's Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital city of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. The team is coached by David Saker and captained by Nic Maddinson. 2015–16 Big Bash League Season
The 2015–16 Big Bash League season (BBL, 05) was the fifth season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The tournament ran from 17 December 2015 to 24 January 2016. The BBL title was won by the Sydney Thunder, who defeated the Melbourne Stars by three wickets in the final to claim their first title. The Perth Scorchers, who had been seeking a third successive title, lost to the Stars in the semi-final thus making this the only season to date that the Scorchers failed to make the final. Chris Lynn of the Brisbane Heat was the tournament's leading run-scorer, making 378 runs from eight matches, and was named player of the tournament.
