Guy Kennedy
Guy Kennedy was an American college football coach at Oregon State University, then known as State Agricultural College. Collegiate coaching In 1894, Guy Kennedy became the second head coach for Oregon State. He served as the head coach for just one season. He went 2–1 in that season. The most notable win in his three game season, was against the University of Oregon. The Oregon State Beavers football team represents Oregon State University in NCAA Division I FBS college football. The team first fielded an organized football team in 1893 and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Jonathan Smith has been the head coach since November 29, 2017. Their home games are played at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon. History Early history Football at Oregon State University started in 1893 shortly after athletics were initially authorized at the college. Athletics were banned prior to May 1892, but when the strict school president, Benjamin Arnold, died, President John Bloss reversed the ban. Oregon Ducks Football
The Oregon Ducks football program is a college football team for the University of Oregon, located in the U.S. state of Oregon. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level in the FBS and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12). Although now known as the Ducks, the team was commonly called the Webfoots until the mid-1960s. The program first fielded a football team in 1894. The Oregon-Oregon State Football Game (Civil War) is an American college football rivalry game played annually in the state of Oregon between the Ducks of the University of Oregon in Eugene and the Beavers of Oregon State University in Corvallis. First played in 1894, it is the fifth- most played college football rivalry game in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Both universities are members of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference and the campuses are less than apart in the Willamette Valley. The series has now been played continuously since 1945. The 1894 college football season was the season of American football played among colleges and universities in the United States during the 1894–95 academic year. The 1894 Yale Bulldogs football team compiled a perfect 16–0 record, outscored opponents by a total of 485 to 13, and has been recognized as the national champion by the Billingsley Report, Helms Athletic Foundation, and National Championship Foundation, and as co-champion by Parke H. Davis. Penn also compiled a perfect record (12–0) and was recognized as the co-national champion by Parke H. Davis. The 1894 Oregon Agricultural Aggies football team represented Oregon Agricultural College (now known as Oregon State University) during the 1894 college football season. In their first and only year under head coach Guy Kennedy, the Aggies compiled a 2–1 record and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 52 to 28. The Aggies defeated Oregon (16–0) and Monmouth College (36–6), but lost to Portland University Portland University was a private, Methodist post-secondary school in Portland, Oregon, United States.
