Guthrie's is a fast casual franchised restaurant chain headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, United States. The first restaurant was opened in Haleyville, in 1965 by Hal Guthrie. By 1978 the menu would consist primarily of chicken fingers, signature sauce, French fries, coleslaw and Texas toast, becoming the first to largely center its menu on chicken fingers. Today the chain has grown to include 36 stores across six states with plans to expand further. History The original Guthrie's was opened in Haleyville, Alabama, in 1965 by Hal Guthrie. Haleyville, Alabama
Haleyville is a city in Winston and Marion counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. It incorporated on February 28, 1889. Most of the city is located in Winston County, with a small portion of the western limits entering Marion County. Haleyville was originally named "Davis Cross Roads", having been established at the crossroads of Byler Road and the Illinois Central Railroad. At the 2020 census the population was 4,361, up from 4,173 at the 2010 census. History The first Guthrie's restaurant was opened by Hal Guthrie in Haleyville in 1965. Oxford is a city and college town in the U.S. state of Mississippi. Oxford lies 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Memphis, Tennessee, and is the county seat of Lafayette County. Gardendale is a city in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States and a northern suburb of Birmingham. The population was 16,044 at the 2020 census. History A large farm settlement near the area today known as Gardendale was settled around 1825. Some years later, other settlers began to move into the community commonly known as Jugtown, a name given to the area based on the presence of a large jug and churn factory that operated in the area.
