Gustav Larsson
Gustav Erik Larsson (born 20 September 1980) is a Swedish former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2016 for nine different teams. Larsson specialised as a time trialist, winning the Swedish National Time Trial Championships seven times between 2006 and 2015, and won silver medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the 2009 World Championships in Mendrisio. Professional career On the international scene he represented Team Saxo Bank, and in Sweden he represented Skoghalls CK-Hammarö. Gemla-born Larsson began cycling when he was 14 years and, having shown great talent and dedication, turned pro just 7 years later. Team was his first employer, and when the team shut down in 2005 he moved on to Team . He rode for one year for Française des Jeux before moving again to the Swedish-Belgian team , which had gained a wild card to the UCI ProTour in 2006. 2011 UCI Road World Championships – Men's Time Trial
The men's time trial of the 2011 UCI Road World Championships cycling event took place on 21 September 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark. After bronze medals in both 2009 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2009 and 2010 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2010, Tony Martin (cyclist), Tony Martin won his first world championship title after setting the quickest time at each of the intermediate splits, before crossing the line in a time over a minute faster than anyone else. He caught and passed the two riders who started directly before him, David Millar and Mikhail Ignatiev (cyclist), Mikhail Ignatiev, and came within 45 seconds of catching a third (Taylor Phinney). The silver medal went to Great Britain's Bradley Wiggins, with the bronze medal going to four-time world champion Fabian Cancellara, who trailed Wiggins by 4.76 seconds after making an error in the closing stages.
