Gustav Hilmar, real name Gustav Černý (30 January 1891 – 19 March 1967) was a Czech film actor. He appeared in 46 films between 1927 and 1964. He is buried at the Vinohrady Cemetery. ''Against All'' ( cs, Proti všem) is a 1956 Czechoslovak historical drama film directed by Otakar Vávra. It is based on the novel '' Proti všem'' by Alois Jirásek. The film's budget was 25 million KČs which made it the most expensive Czech film of the time. Itis the third part of Vávra's cinematic Hussite Revolutionary Trilogy. The plot is set after Jan Žižka and concludes the entire trilogy. It takes place in 1420. The central motif of the film is the fight between the Hussites and the troops of the First anti-Hussite crusade led by the heir to the Bohemian throne, the Hungarian King and Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund of Luxemburg. We also follow the development of Tábor and the disputes between the moderate party of Jan Žižka and the radical Picarts of Petr Kániš. ''Jan Žižka'' is a 1955 Czechoslovak film directed by Otakar Vávra. The film starred Zdeněk Štěpánek. It is sequel to Jan Hus. Plot takes place between 1419 and 1420. The central motif of the film is the escalation of the situation in Bohemia after the burning of master Jan Hus and the popular revolt against the papal authority and against the new King Sigismund. At the head of this rebellion is a priest Jan Želivský and the king's aide and later governor Jan Žižka. The film was followed by Against All. ''Jan Hus '' is a 1954 Czechoslovak film about Jan Hus, an early Christian reformer. It is the first part of the " Hussite Revolutionary Trilogy", one of the most famous works of Otakar Vávra, completed with ''Jan Žižka'' (1955) and ''Against All (1956). Plot The opening part is set in 1412. It portrays the suffering of the poor working on the Týn Temple in Prague. It shows their struggles with rich townspeople and stingy church dignitaries collecting indulgences. Publicly criticizing the Catholic Church, Jan Hus opposes the sale of indulgences in his sermons in the Bethlehem Chapel. In addition to crowds of poor Praguers, his services are attended by Queen Žofia, who defends Hus before King Wenceslas. The ailing king, who is being pressured by the Pope and his brother Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund because of Hus's sermons, prefers to have fun rather than politics and worries.
