Gus Kearney
Augustus Daniel Kearney (22 November 1870 – 10 March 1907) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and was a part of the Bombers' 1897 premiership team. Football Kearney came from Geelong College and played in three of the Essendon Association's premierships between 1892 and 1894. Kearney was a skilled follower who played intercolonial football in 1893. Kearney was the vice-captain of Essendon in his two playing years for the club in the Victorian Football League, 1897 and 1898. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale, Victoria, Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. The club’s first recorded game took place on 7 June 1873 against a Carlton Second 20. Kyneton, Victoria
Kyneton ( ) is a town in the Macedon Ranges region of Victoria, Australia. The Calder Freeway bypasses Kyneton to the north and east. Kyneton is on Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country. The town has four main streets: Mollison Street, Main street, Piper Street and High Street. Piper Street has the oldest streetscape of these, and still has many of its original buildings. The railway station, about from Melbourne on the Bendigo railway line, is a terminus for two weekday peak-hour trains. The town is the council seat of the Shire of Macedon Ranges.
