Guru Mother
''Guru Mother'' is a 1994 album by Opus III (band), Opus III. It features the dance club hit "When You Made the Mountain". The album contains positive lyrics including one track that is a Sanskrit prayer ("Guru Mother"). It integrates strands of Eastern spirituality (the belief that all nature is divine) with ecology. The CD booklet also included the poem "Let There Be Many Windows in Your Soul" by Ralph Waldo Trine. Singer Kirsty Hawkshaw commented on the booklet: "respect to all those who take big risks to preserve our beautiful countryside. to those who don't care about nature: without it we are nothing. all the sahaja yogis of the world and last but least the holy spirit for guiding, inspiring and connecting us all the way." Ralph Waldo Trine
Ralph Waldo Trine (October 26, 1866 – November 8, 1958) was an American philosopher, author, and teacher. He wrote many books on the New Thought movement. Trine was a close friend of Henry Ford and had several conversations with him about success in life. Trine attended several different colleges and universities. His studies were on writing, journalism, history, and social science. He took up work as a journalist and eventually became an author of many books in philosophy. Early life Born September 9, 1866, in Mount Morris, Illinois, Trine was the son of Samuel G. Trine and Ellen E. Newcomer. Martin Brammer
Martin Brammer (born 13 May 1957) is an English singer, songwriter, composer and record producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the pop trio Kane Gang. Brammer later developed his songwriting abilities to pen many successful tracks for a variety of notable musicians. Brammer has been nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, and has been involved in the making of records that have sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Kirsty Hawkshaw (born 26 October 1969) is an English electronic music vocalist and songwriter. In addition to her work as a solo artist, she is known as the lead vocalist of early 1990s dance group Opus III, and her collaborative work with other musicians and producers. Opus III was an English electronic music and progressive house group who had success on the UK Singles Chart and on the U.S. Dance charts. The group consisted of vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw and producers/musicians Kevin Dodds, Ian Munro and Nigel Walton. The group members promoted a strong environmental and feminist message through their lyrics, album liner notes and photo and video imagery. Their biggest hit was "It's a Fine Day", which reached number five in the United Kingdom in February 1992.
