Guo Liang Chi
Guo Liang Chi (, born 1966), also known in Cantonese as Kwok Lung-kee or Kwok Ling-kay and his nickname Ah Kay, is a Chinese criminal who was charged and convicted by US federal authorities for murder and human trafficking. He was a leader of the Fuk Ching gang, one of the Snakehead. He was arrested in British Hong Kong in 1994 and extradited to the US. Guo was born in Fujian. He went to the United States via Ecuador in 1981. He had ordered the January 1994 killing in New York of two subordinates who were suspected to be planning on creating a breakaway faction. He was tricked into confessing the details over the phone by an FBI informant, and later led to a restaurant in Hong Kong where he was arrested. Following Guo's arrest, federal authorities made 14 subsequent arrests over the next few days in New York of people suspected of being involved in the gang. Snakehead (gang)
Snakeheads () are Chinese gangs that smuggle people to other countries. They are found in the Fujian region of China and smuggle their customers into wealthier Western countries such as those in Western Europe, North America, Australia, and some nearby wealthier regions such as Taiwan and Japan. Snakeheads use various methods to get their customers to the West. They may employ the use of stolen or altered passports, improperly obtained visas, and bribes to move people from nation to nation until they arrive at their final destination. They also may use fake business delegations and tour groups as a way of beating immigration controls. The rate of payment for successful smuggling can be as high as US$70,000. One notable snakehead member was Cheng Chui Ping or "Sister Ping". British Hong Kong

Golden Venture
''Golden Venture'' was a cargo ship that smuggled 286 undocumented immigrants from China (mostly Fuzhou people from Fujian province) along with 13 crew members that ran aground on the beach at Fort Tilden on the Rockaway peninsula of Queens, New York on June 6, 1993, at around 2 a.m. The ship had sailed from Bangkok, Thailand, stopped in Kenya and rounded the Cape of Good Hope, then headed northwest across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City on its four-month voyage. Ten people drowned in their attempts to flee the ship that had run aground and get to shore in the United States.
