Guntis Endzels
Guntis Endzels (born 5 December 1967) is a Latvian professional basketball coach, who is currently a head coach for Latvijas Universitāte. Endzels has been head coach for Latvian youth national teams in FIBA continental championships. From 2006 to 2007 he was also an assistant for Latvia men's national basketball team head coach Kārlis Muižnieks. Coach (basketball)
Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup
The 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, the 18th edition of FIBA's premier international tournament for women's national basketball teams, was held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain from 22 to 30 September 2018. This was the first edition to use the name of ''FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup''. After the last edition in 2014, FIBA changed the name of the competition from the ''FIBA World Championship for Women'', in order to align its name with that of the corresponding men's competition. The United States were the two-time defending champions. This tournament saw the World Cup debut of Belgium, Latvia and Puerto Rico. Latvia Women's National Basketball Team
The Latvia women's national basketball team is the national women's basketball team representing Latvia. It is administrated by the Latvian Basketball Association. It has participated in EuroBasket Women three times and once in the Olympic Games. History Golden age of Latvia women's national basketball team was from 2007 to 2009, when head coach was Ainars Zvirgzdiņš. In EuroBasket 2007 Latvia first time in history reached semi-final. In third place game they lost to Belarus. This result allowed to get in 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which had overpowered in next summer in Madrid, and Latvia took part of 2008 Summer Olympics. EuroBasket 2009 was held in Latvia. Kārlis Muižnieks
Kārlis Muižnieks (born March 17, 1964 in Riga, Latvian SSR, Soviet Union) is a former basketball player and currently is the head coach of Prometey Kamianske of the UA SuperLeague. Career in basketball Muižnieks had solid career as player, which is followed by prolific coaching career. As head coach Muižnieks has led his teams to multiple championships, winning titles in domestic and international competitions. So far he has been most successful in Latvia, where he has guided his teams to six Latvian League titles (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008).
