''Gumnaami'' ( bn, গুমনামি) is a 2019 Indian Bengali-language Factual film based on the true events directed by Srijit Mukherji, which deals with the mystery of Netaji's death, based on the Mukherjee Commission hearings and the book ''Conundrum'' written by Anuj Dhar and Chandrachur Ghose. It has been produced by Shrikant Mohta, Pranay Ranjan, and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. Prosenjit Chatterjee plays the roles of Subhas Chandra Bose and Gumnaami Baba. The principal photography began in May 2019 in Asansol, West Bengal. The film was released theatrically on 2 October 2019. Gumnami Baba
Bhagwanji, also known as Gumnami Baba( ভগবানজী (), was an ascetic who had lived approximately last thirty years of his life in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, a state in Northern India. His most remarkable trait was his undying commitment towards remaining incognito. Only a handful of people had the privilege of seeing him in person. Most of the visitors had to converse with him separated by a curtain, with his face hidden all along. During his stay in Uttar Pradesh, he changed his dwelling place multiple times in order to avoid unwanted attention. His first appearance can be traced back to the mid-1950s in the city of Lucknow, where he was first reportedly sighted. Prosenjit Chatterjee (born 30 September 1962) is an Indian actor and producer. He is widely regarded as one of the leading actors in modern Bengali cinema. He predominantly works in Bengali cinema . Anuj Dhar
Anuj Dhar is an Indian author and former journalist. He has published several books around the locus of death of Subhas Chandra Bose that propounds theories about his living for several years after the purported plane crash, thus contradicting the current consensus. Dhar is also the founder-trustee of a not for profit organisation, Mission Netaji, which campaigns for the declassification of documents concerning Bose. Claims Dhar has claimed that Bose had lived in the Uttar Pradesh state of India as Gumnami Baba or Bhagwanji a hermit till 1985. The claims were debunked by the Mukherjee Commission which rejected any linkage between the two, in light of a DNA profiling test. Samar Guha
Samar Guha ( bn, সমর গুহ) was a noted Indian politician, and an Indian independence movement activist. He was a close associate of Subhas Chandra Bose. He was also a well known academician, whose textbooks on chemistry are still widely used.
