The Gulf Coast League Rangers, or GCL Rangers were a minor league baseball club in the Gulf Coast League between 1973 and 2002. The club was consistently competitive winning eight league championships and seven division titles, while only posting five losing seasons. The gteam originally played in Sarasota, Florida until 1987, when it relocated south to Port Charlotte, Florida. Port Charlotte, Florida
Port Charlotte is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The population was 54,392 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Punta Gorda, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Stanley L. Hough (Los Angeles, CA, July 23, 1918 – Los Angeles, CA, February 23, 1990) was an American movie executive and film and television producer. He worked as an assistant director from 1952 to 1961. He then became vice-president in charge of production operations at 20th Century Fox. Carlos Subero
Carlos Ingver Subero (born June 15, 1972) is a Venezuelan professional baseball coach and former player. He is currently manager for the Hanwha Eagles of the KBO League. Subero previously served as first base and infield coach for the Milwaukee Brewers. Career As a player, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Royals in 1990 and he spent five seasons in the minors with the Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Texas Rangers. His last season as a player was in 1997 with the independent Meridian Brakemen of the Big South League. The Gulf Coast League (GCL) Royals were a minor league baseball franchise in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League from 1971–1978, 1982–1983 and 1985–2002. The club was owned and operated by the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball.
