Gulbar Khan
Gulbar Khan () is a Pakistani politician who has been the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan since July 2023. He is also a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly since November 2020. He used to be a member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), but later on joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Political career Khan contested the 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election on 15 November 2020 from GBA-18 (Diamer-IV) on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan is elected by the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly to serve as the head of the provincial government in Gilgit-Baltistan for a five-year term. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI; ur, , ) is a political party in Pakistan. It was founded in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (Fazl) also Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) or simply as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Urdu: ; ; JUI-F) is a Deobandi Sunni political party in Pakistan. Established as the ''Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam'' in 1945, it is the result of a factional split in 1988, ''F'' standing for the name of its leader, Fazal-ur-Rehman. It is almost entirely based in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan, which are mostly inhabited by Pashtuns. The JUI-S faction, led by Samiul Haq, is of regional significance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but has no representation on the national level. The split of JUI into two factions was due to dissent over the policy of Pakistani president Zia-ul-Haq of supporting Mujahideen outfits in the Afghanistan war during the 1980s. The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly (GBA), formerly known as Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA), is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of Autonomous territory (de-facto Pakistani province) of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is located in Jutial neighbourhood in the city of Gilgit, the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan. Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan (Urdu: محمد خالد خورشید خان ; born 17 November 1980) is a Pakistani lawyer and politician who is the current Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan ''de-facto'' province of Pakistan, from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Election
The 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections were held on 15 November 2020. Elections will be held in 24 constituencies, each electing one member to the 3rd Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly. 330 candidates will contest these elections, either representing one of the political parties of Gilgit-Baltistan (at the time of the 2020 elections) or being an independent candidate. The elections were originally scheduled to be held on 18 August 2020, but were postponed in July due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely affected Gilgit-Baltistan.
