Guillermo Vento
Guillermo Aquilino Vento (born July 5, 1921) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball player. Listed at 5' 8" (1.75 m), 165 lb (75 kg), Vento batted and threw right handed. He was born in Maracaibo, Zulia. Basically a line-drive hitter and a fine defensive catcher, Vento also showed his versatility as a strong-armed third baseman, corner outfielder and first sacker, as well as a very good base runner. He was a member of the Venezuela national team that won gold medals in the 1941 and 1944 Baseball World Cup tournaments, helping his team to an upset victory over Cuba in 1941, while leading the 1944 edition with 14 runs scored. In 1946, Vento entered the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League with the Cervecería Caracas club, playing for the franchise through the 1954–1955 season, after it was christened as the Leones del Caracas. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. Ramón Flores (born March 26, 1992) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, and Los Angeles Angels. Pete Koegel
Peter John Koegel (July 31, 1947 – February 4, 2023) was an American Major League Baseball first baseman, catcher, and outfielder. Koegel was drafted in the fourth round of the 1965 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Athletics out of Seaford High School (New York). He remained in the organization through its move to Oakland, California before being traded along with Bob Meyer to the Seattle Pilots for Fred Talbot in 1969. Koegel again remained in an organization through a move, this time when the Pilots moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become the Milwaukee Brewers. During his time with the Brewers, Koegel played at the Major League level with the team in 1970 and in 1971 before being dealt along with Ray Peters to the Philadelphia Phillies for Johnny Briggs on April 22, 1971. A run batted in (RBI; plural RBIs ) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. In baseball, a run is scored when a player advances around first, second and third base and returns safely to home plate, touching the bases in that order, before three outs are recorded and all obligations to reach base safely on batted balls are met or assured. A player may score by hitting a home run or by any combination of plays that puts him safely "on base" (that is, on first, second, or third) as a runner and subsequently brings him home.
