Guillermo Ortega Ruiz
Guillermo Ortega Ruiz (born February 15, 1955 in Mexico City) is a Mexican journalist. He was Televisa Nightly News Anchor. Biography Son of Benjamin Ortega Hernandez also a journalist and Guillermina Ruiz Marcos. He studied journalism at the School of Journalism Carlos Septién Garcia. Career He began working for Televisa on June 16, 1976 at the age of 21, starting as a reporter at the News 24 Hours from 1976 to 1981. He participated as a correspondent in the Salvadoran Civil War. He Covered state visits of Presidents of Mexico to different parts of the world, from José López Portillo to Vicente Fox. He narrated the visits of the Pope John Paul II, Summer Olympic Games and Space Missions, as well as witnessed and reported unrest and conflicts in various countries and covered presidential campaigns. Las Estrellas ("The Stars"; previously El Canal de las Estrellas, or "The Channel of the Stars") is one of the cornerstone networks of TelevisaUnivision, with affiliate stations all over Mexico, flagshipped at XEW-TDT in Mexico City. Many of the programs of ''Las Estrellas'' are seen in the United States on Univision, UniMás, and Galavisión. History Las Estrellas originated from XEW-TV, which began broadcasting on 21 March 1951. Joaquín López-Dóriga Velandia (born 8 February 1947) is a Spanish Mexican journalist. He started working as a journalist for the daily ''El Heraldo de México'' at the age of 18, and two years later he joined Jacobo Zabludovsky in the television news program ''24 Horas''. Jacobo Zabludovsky
Jacobo Zabludovsky Kraveski (May 24, 1928 – July 2, 2015) was a Mexican journalist. He was the first anchorman in Mexican television and his TV news program, ''24 Horas'' (''24 Hours'') was for decades regarded as the most important in the country. Early life Zabludovsky was born in 1928 in Mexico City to Polish Jewish immigrants. He was the brother of Abraham Zabludovsky (1924-2003), a famous architect. Career Zabludovsky was a well known anchor man hosting ''24 Horas,'' the main news program on the popular Televisa network between 1970 and 1998. Owing to the nonconfrontational approach of the network, the programme was perceived as partisan and supportive of the government. In 1998, citing a desire to cut down his workload and ill-health, he retired from presenting ''24 Horas'', which also came to an end with his departure, marking the end of an era in Mexican journalism. XEQ-AM (940 kHz) is a commercial class A clear channel AM radio station in Mexico City. The concession is held by Cadena Radiodifusora Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. and is operated by Radiópolis. XEQ-AM broadcasts from a transmitter located at Los Reyes Acaquilpan, on Boulevard Generalísimo Morelos, east of Mexico City. It currently simulcasts XEQ-FM 92.9. History XEQ began operations in 1938. It was owned by Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta doing business as Radio Panamericana, S.A., and was a network affiliate of CBS Radio as part of the "Chain of the Americas." It was Azcárraga's second station after XEW-AM. By the 1960s, XEQ was operating with 150,000 watts during the day and 50,000 at night. In the 1970s, it switched to 100,000 watts day and night.
