Guido Ascoli
Guido Ascoli (12 December 1887, in Livorno – 10 May 1957, in Torino) was an Italian mathematician, known for his contributions to the theory of partial differential equations, and for his works on the teaching of mathematics in secondary high schools. A book collecting the winning papers of the 1935 prize of the Annali della Reale Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. Sansoni is an Italian publisher founded in 1873 by Giulio Cesare Sansoni, located in Florence. History Until the 1930s, Sansoni devoted almost all its attention to literature, with its works mostly aimed at schools and universities. The Leghorn (, ; it, Livorno, italic=no or Livornese) is a breed of chicken originating in Tuscany, in central Italy. Birds were first exported to North America in 1828 from the Tuscan port city of Livorno, on the western coast of Italy. They were initially called "Italians", but by 1865 the breed was known as "Leghorn", the traditional anglicisation of "Livorno". The breed was introduced to Britain from the United States in 1870. White Leghorns are commonly used as layer chickens in many countries of the world. Other Leghorn varieties are less common.
