	Guajataca Lake Guajataca Lake, or Lago Guajataca, is a reservoir of the Guajataca River created by the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in 1929. It is located between the municipalities of San Sebastián, Quebradillas, and Isabela in Puerto Rico, and receives most of its water from the Rio Guajataca and Rio Chiquito de Cibao rivers. The lake primarily functions as a water reservoir as well as for recreational activities such as boating and fishing. Various species of fish such as peacock bass, largemouth bass, sunfish, perch, catfish, tilapia and threadfin shad can be found in the lake. The Guajataka Scout Reservation partially borders the southern portion of the lake. picture info	Guajataca Tunnel Guajataca Tunnel is a railroad tunnel that connected the town of Isabela and Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. The tunnel is one of the most significant work of the remnants of the national railway system that connected the island during the first half of the twentieth century. In 2000, the Government of Puerto Rico declared it a historical monument. History The ''American Railroad Co. of Puerto Rico'' began construction of the tunnel around 1904 during the expansion of the northern line towards the west of the island. The tunnel connected the towns of Quebradillas and Isabela on the Guajataca River canyon. The construction was completed with the excavation of two tunnels on each side of the canyon. They were joined by a steel viaduct long at an elevation of above the river level. The tunnel is open to the public but it is fairly isolated. 	Guajataka Scout Reservation Guajataka Scout Reservation or Camp Guajataka (Campamento Guajataka in Spanish), often simply referred to as Guajataka and nicknamed Santuario de Amistad ( en, Sanctuary of Friendship), is a Scout reservation of the Puerto Rico Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the council's only camping grounds. The camp is located in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, in the northwest, and partially borders the southern portion of Guajataca Lake, from which the camp takes part of its name. The camp was founded in 1938 with the transfer of land from the Government of Puerto Rico to the Puerto Rico BSA Council. The facility has a participant capacity of little more than 500 individuals. History Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the population of Guajataca barrio was 666.
