Guadarranque River
The Guadarranque ( es, Río Guadarranque) is a short coastal river of Spain in the Andalusian ''comarca'' of Campo de Gibraltar in the province of Cádiz. It is impounded to form the Embalse de Guadarranque. Its name is derived from the Arab ''Wadi Ramke'' or "river of mares". The Guadarrranque, long, rises in the monte de Castellar, a short distance from the city of Castellar Viejo, and empties into the Bay of Algeciras. The Guadarranque solar power plant ( es, Parque Solar Guadarranque) is a photovoltaic solar power plant in the Guadarranque industrial park, named after the river, in San Roque, Cádiz. This river should not be confused with the other Guadarranque River in the Montes de Toledo The Montes de Toledo are one of the main systems of mountain ranges in the Iberian Peninsula. Campo de Gibraltar (, "Gibraltar Countryside") is a comarca (county) in the province of Cádiz, Spain, in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, the southernmost part of mainland Europe. It comprises the municipalities of Algeciras, La Línea de la Concepción, San Roque, Los Barrios, Castellar de la Frontera, Jimena de la Frontera and Tarifa. The Bay of Gibraltar ( es, Bahía de Algeciras), is a bay at the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula.
