Guadalupe Castañeda
Guadalupe Castañeda (born 24 February 1965 in Fresnillo, Mexico) is a Mexican former footballer who played for various clubs in Mexico. Club career A defender capable of lining up on either flank, Castañeda played eight years with Cruz Azul and later represented Chivas de Guadalajara. Nicknamed ''Lupillo'', he began his career with Atlas in 1986–87 and moved to León in 1990, winning a starting fullback spot as León won the tournament championship title in the 1991–92 season.MedioTiempo"Guadalupe Castañeda – Dorados". Fresnillo
Fresnillo (/fres'nijo/), founded in 1554 by Francisco de Ibarra, is the second largest city in Zacatecas state, north central Mexico and the seat of Fresnillo municipality. As a rail and highway junction, Fresnillo is the center of a rich mining area known especially for silver, and the location of one of the world's richest silver mines, the Mina Proaño or Fresnillo Mine, which belongs to the Peñoles mining company. Primera División A ''(Méxican First A Division)'' is a Mexican football tournament. This season was composed of Apertura 2003 and Clausura 2004. Dorados de Sinaloa was the winner of the promotion to First Division after winning León in the promotion playoff. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX was the second tier of professional football in Mexico of the Mexican football league system. The champion of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top-flight tier). The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (the third tier). It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX. Formerly known as Primera División A (First Division A) the league rebranded in 2009 its name and competition format to Liga de Ascenso. It was rebranded in 2012 as Ascenso MX. CONCACAF Champions League
The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. Primera División de México ''(Mexico First Division)'' Invierno 1997 is a Mexican football tournament - one of two short tournaments that take up the entire year to determine the champion(s) of Mexican football. 1991–92 Mexican Primera División Season
The following statistics encompass the 1991–92 Primera División de México season. Overview It was contested by 20 teams, and the León won the championship. Atlante F.C. was promoted from Segunda División. Starting in 1991–92, there was a change in the system of relegation to the Segunda División. The so-called "relegation table" was implemented, in which the points obtained in the last two seasons were divided between the games played in the current season to obtain a coefficient. This is the relegation system used by Primera Div./Liga MX to this day. The difference is in that due to the change in the calendar which allowed for shorter tournaments, it encompasses the past five seasons (equivalent to about 2.5 years' worth of league games). Jorge "Tote" Castañeda Reyes (born 12 January 1970) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a midfielder during his career. He was the captain of the Mexico national football team competing at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Club career In 1987, when he was eighteen, Castañeda signed with Club Atlas.
