Gröndal
Gröndal (''Green Valley'') is a district of the Hägersten-Liljeholmen borough in Söderort, the southern suburban part of Stockholm. The name Gröndal means Green Dale or Green Valley. Gröndal developed as a working class and industrial suburb after the opening of Liljeholmen freight station in the 1860s. The district was a part of Liljeholmen municipal community in the Brännkyrka Brännkyrka is a parish in South Stockholm, Sweden. The population is 36,572. Brännkyrka, at that time much larger in area, was amalgamated into the city of Stockholm in 1913. Hägersten-Liljeholmen is a Boroughs of Stockholm, borough (''stadsdelsområde'') in Stockholm, Sweden. It is part of the Söderort suburban area. The borough is located in South Stockholm. The districts that make up the borough are Aspudden, Fruängen, Gröndal, Hägersten, Hägerstensåsen, Liljeholmen, Midsommarkransen, Mälarhöjden, Västberga, and Västertorp. The population of Hägersten-Liljeholmen borough is 83,283 as of 2014. The borough was formed on January 1, 2007 by merging the Hägersten borough (Hägersten, Fruängen, Hägerstensåsen, Mälarhöjden and Västertorp) with Liljeholmen borough (Aspudden, Gröndal, Midsommarkransen, Västberga and a portion of Hägersten). Söderort (literally "the southern place", sometimes translated to ''South Stockholm'') is the southern suburban part of the Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It is also part of the city of Stockholm. Geography Söderort is located in the northern part of the Södertörn peninsula/island. Kangilinnguit or Kangilínguit, formerly Grønnedal , is a settlement and location of a former naval base in Greenland's Sermersooq municipality, located at the mouth of Arsuk Fjord in southwestern Greenland.
