RecordTV (), formerly known as Rede Record, is a Brazilian free-to-air television network. It is currently the second largest commercial TV station in Brazil, and the 28th largest in the 2012 world ranking. In 2010, it was elected by the advertising market as the fifth largest station in the world in revenues and the eighth largest network in physical structure. In June 2021, it ranked second among the most watched channels in the country in the National Television Panel, behind only TV Globo. Correio do Povo ''(The People's Mail)'' is a Brazilian daily newspaper printed in the city of Porto Alegre, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The newspaper is owned by Grupo Record. Rádio Record is a Brazilian radio station based in São Paulo, Brazil. It is part of the Grupo Record and operates in the frequency 1000 kHz AM. It has programming dedicated to sports, news, and popular programs. History Rádio Record was founded in 1928 by Álvaro Liberato de Macedo, with the name of ''Rádio Sociedade Record'', and passed to Paulo Machado de Carvalho in 1931. RecordTV Internacional is a Brazilian pay-TV and free-to-air channel that broadcasts 24 hours via satellite and cable with digital parameters, all in Portuguese. Record News (formerly known as Rede Mulher) is the first 24-hour free-to-air terrestrial news channel in Brazil, and the third Brazilian news channel to be launched after GloboNews and BandNews TV. It is owned by RecordTV. History In 1953, TV Record started as the second Brazilian TV channel (the first was the extinct Rede Tupi). As the network celebrated its 54th anniversary, a new channel has been launched. This is the first Brazilian free-to-air and terrestrial news channel.
