Gruaja Shqiptare
Gruaja Shqiptare was a women's organization in Albania, active between 1928 and 1939. It was a state supported women's rights organization with the task of promoting government policy in women's rights. History Prior to the national organization Gruaja Shqiptare, a number of local women's rights organization had existed with the same name. The Albanian women's rights movement had started among a couple of urban women intellectuals under the leadership of Sevasti Qiriazi and Parashqevi Qiriazi, but it had been interrupted by WWI. When Albania won its independence after the war, the women's movement were resumed. Marie Çoba of Shkodër founded a local women's organization called Gruaja Shqiptare in 1920, and several independent local organizations with the same name were founded in Korçë, Vlorë and Tiranë. Princess Senije Zogu
Princess Senije also called ''Sanije Zogu'' (1903–1969), was an Albanian princess. She was the daughter of Xhemal Pasha Zogu and Sadijé Toptani, his second wife, and was the third of six sisters of King Zog I of Albania. When her brother became monarch in 1928, she and her siblings were granted the status of Prince and Princess Zogu. She was the chairperson of the Albanian Red Cross and the women's organisation '' Gruaja Shiqiptare'' in 1928–1939. Life Princess Senije (Xenia) was described as the favorite sister of Zog I, and the affection was reportedly mutual. Union of Albanian Women was an important mass organization in socialist Albania, founded in 1943 and dissolved in 1992. As with other mass organizations and associations during the time period, it was affiliated with the Democratic Front. Sadije Toptani
Sadije Toptani (Tirana, 28 August 1876 – Durrës, 25 November 1934) was queen mother of Albania from September 1928 until her death. She was the mother of Zog I of Albania. Biography Sadije (also Sadijé, Sadiya or Khadija) was a member of the powerful Toptani family, Sadije was the daughter of Salah Bey Toptani (1843−1910) and his wife, Annijé Toptani (1855−1899), both members by birth of the Toptani family. Sevasti Qiriazi
Sevasti Qiriazi-Dako (Sevasti D. Kyrias) (ca. 1871–1949) was an Albanian patriot, educator, Protestant missionary, author, pioneer of Albanian female education, and activist of the Albanian National Awakening. Early Life Sevasti was born ca. 1870 to the patriotic Qiriazi (Kyrias) family of Tërnovë, Monastir, in today's North Macedonia. She was the sixth of ten children. She began attending a Greek-language primary school at age four. As a child her family came into close contact with Albanian patriots and American Protestant missionaries who operated a school and religious services near their home in Monastir.
