Grouse Lodge is a recording studio near Rosemount, County Westmeath, Ireland. Designed by Andy Munro it has two studios and living quarters in nine stone outhouses, integrating the existing 275-year-old stone structure. Recording Studio
A recording studio is a specialized facility for sound recording, mixing, and audio production of instrumental or vocal musical performances, spoken words, and other sounds. They range in size from a small in-home project studio large enough to record a single singer-guitarist, to a large building with space for a full orchestra of 100 or more musicians. Laminate (band)
Laminate were a hard rock band from Co. Wexford, Ireland. They formed in Wexford in 2003, initially as a side-project for singer/guitarist Derren Dempsey and singer/drummer Marc Hillis, both of whom were active members in other bands at the time. Having played around the local area a few times, Derren, Marc and then bassist Lee Byrne decided to leave their respective bands to concentrate purely on Laminate. They recorded a three track demo in Grouse Lodge (famed for having hosted Muse & The Manic Street Preachers among others) which was well received by Kerrang! Magazine, and received a 9 out of 10 in Rock Sound Magazine. The band followed this with support shows with Kerbdog Kerbdog were an alternative metal band from Kilkenny, Ireland, formed in 1991. Royseven
Royseven are a six-piece alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. They are known for songs such as "Dance" and " We Should Be Lovers", and have released two albums to date: '' The Art of Insincerity'' (2006) and '' You Say, We Say'' (2011). Royseven met through mutual friends- and an advert in an Irish music magazine. Singer, Paul Walsh and guitarist Eamonn Barrett, advertised in Hot Press magazine for a drummer, they interviewed several but quickly decided on Darragh Oglesby. It was he who suggested keyboard player Paul O’Hara and when their first bass player Andrew (Drew) Kennedy ( blancatransfer) left, Oglesby identified a replacement duo to bolster the line-up even more. ''Absolution'' is the third studio album by English rock band Muse, first released on 15 September 2003 through Taste Media. Background The album is named after a phrase the English comedian Tony Hancock used to refer to "battling one's inner demons by getting drunk". ''Lifeblood'' is the seventh studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. Recorded in 2003, it was released on 1 November 2004 by record label Sony Music UK. The album was met with generally positive reviews from critics, yielding two singles, "The Love of Richard Nixon" and " Empty Souls". The album peaked at number 13 in the UK Album Chart. Writing and recording The working title of ''Lifeblood'' was ''Litany'', hinting that the song "Litany" recorded during the ''Lifeblood'' sessions was originally intended for inclusion. The track, however, only featured as a B-side to the " Empty Souls" CD single. Manic Street Preachers
Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Blackwood in 1986. The band consists of cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (musician), Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes), plus Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics). They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Manchester. The band is composed of twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar, vocals) and Andy Williams (drums, vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (bass, vocals, guitar). Additionally, the band employs Martin Rebelski, as a touring and session musician on keyboards. The band released four studio albums between 2000 and 2009, two of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, '' The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. During this time Goodwin released his first solo album, ''Odludek'' (2014), while the Williams brothers regrouped as Black Rivers.
