Alfred Grosser
Alfred Grosser (born 1 February 1925 in Frankfurt am Main) is a German-French writer, sociologist, and political scientist. He is known for his contributions towards the Franco-German cooperation after World War II and for criticizing Israel. Early life His father, Paul Grosser, was born in 1880 in Berlin and died 1934 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. A director of a children's hospital in Frankfurt am Main, socialist, freemason, and Jew, he was forced to immigrate to France in 1933 due to the increasing antisemitism in Nazi Germany. Alfred and his mother, Lily Grosser, were given French citizenship through a decree by the Minister of Justice, Vincent Auriol, in 1937; as a result, they were spared possible internment in a French camp following France's declaration of war on Germany, in September 1939, when, under the government of Daladier, German refugees from Nazism were treated as enemy aliens, along with other German residents. Peter Grosser (28 September 1938 – 2 March 2021) was a German football player and coach. Club career As a player, he spent six seasons in the Bundesliga with TSV 1860 Munich, captaining the club for the 1965–66 Bundesliga title and scoring 49 goals in 130 West German top-flight appearances. Philip Grosser (1890 in Slavuta – October 3, 1933 in Boston) was an anarchist Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is skeptical of all justifications for authority and seeks to abolish the institutions it claims maintain unnecessary coercion and hierarchy, typically including, though not neces ... and anti-militarist, hailed by fellow anarchist, Alexander Berkman, as "one of yfinest comrades". He was imprisoned at the Federal Military Prison on Alcatraz Island, having refused the draft during the first World War. By the end of 1920, two years after the war ended, he was the only remaining conscientious objector at Alcatraz, and in poor health. Grosser is notable for writing one of the first exposés of Alcatraz Prison, the 32-page pamphlet ''Uncle Sam's Devil's Island'', which told of his experience in the prison. Thomas Grosser (10 April 1965 – 12 February 2008 in Unterhaching) was a German football player. Grosser came to SpVgg Unterhaching in 1983; before he played in the youth department of FC Bayern Munich and TSV Forstenried. In 1989, he became a midfield player with Unterhaching from Bavaria League in the 2. Bundesliga and completed the season 1989–90 (26 games) with one goal for his club. After his active career, he worked for ten years as coach of the seniors B, and was also a committed youth coach. Grosser died during an indoor training.
