Grosser Preis Der Badischen Wirtschaft
The Grosser Preis der Badischen Wirtschaft is a Group races, Group 2 Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in Germany open to thoroughbreds aged four years or older. It is run at Baden-Baden over a distance of 2,200 metres (about 1 mile and 3 furlongs), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late May or early June. The event was originally called the Grosser Preis der Badischen Wirtschaft, and it was initially a 1,800-metre race for horses aged three or older. Its distance was extended to 2,200 metres and the minimum age was raised to four in 1983. The race was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz from 2001 to 2007, and during this period it was known as the Grosser Mercedes-Benz-Preis. It was renamed the Grosser Preis der Badischen Unternehmen in 2008. Heinz Jentzsch (13 March 192021 April 2012) was the most successful horse trainer in the history of German horse racing. Career During his active years from 1942 to 1999, Jentzsch recorded 4,029 victories. After World War II he came to Cologne to train for the 'Stallgemeinschaft Asterblüte', a group of major German owners of race-horses (Gestüte Schlenderhan, Fährhof, Bona, Charlottenhof, Ittlingen). Mülheim, officially Mülheim an der Ruhr () and also described as ''"City on the River"'', is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Hoppegarten is a municipality in the district Märkisch-Oderland, in Brandenburg, Germany. History The current municipality was created in 2003 when the former municipalities of Hönow and Münchehofe were united with Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten. Kerrin McEvoy (born 28 October 1980) is an Australian jockey who is best known for winning three Melbourne Cups. In Europe, McEvoy rode several big winners for Godolphin including Rule of Law in the St Leger Stakes at Doncaster in 2004 and Ibn Khaldun in the Racing Post Trophy, also at Doncaster in 2007. Christophe Patrice Lemaire (Japanese:, born 20 May 1979) is a French-born jockey. He has enjoyed much of his success on the Japanese flat racing circuit, with the most wins at Japan Racing Association racetracks for five consecutive years since 2017. Andreas Schütz (born 19 February 1968) is a Thoroughbred racehorse trainer. From a prominent racing family, he is the fourth generation to train professionally. Andreas Schütz started out as an amateur jockey, winning four German championships from 1984–1987 and the European championship in 1987. In 1992 he began working as an assistant trainer for his father Bruno Schütz who had built one of the Germany's most successful public training stables. André Fabre
André Fabre (born 9 December 1945) is a French thoroughbred horse racing trainer. The son of a diplomat, Fabre graduated from university with a law degree but then decided to pursue a career in thoroughbred horse racing. He began by working in the stables as a groom then as a schooling rider.
