Groovie Mann
Groovie Mann (born Frank Nicholas Nardiello) is a founding member of industrial disco band My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. History Nardiello was first in a band called Special Affect with Al Jourgensen, before the latter left to form Ministry in 1981. Nardiello then joined London-based post-punk band Drowning Craze, singing on their second and third singles, "Trance" (1981) and "Heat" (1982). While touring with Ministry in 1986, Nardiello and Jourgensen wrote a few songs together for a film Nardiello had been working on with friend Buzz McCoy. Titled ''Hammerhead Housewife and the Thrill Kill Kult'', the film was never finished, but its title was the inspiration for their new band, and the soundtrack was released as an EP with Wax Trax! Records. After that, Nardiello founded My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult in 1987. Nardiello performed vocals on the Fred Giannelli track "Mindblower" for his 1991 EP ''Fred''. Industrial Music
Industrial music is a genre of music that draws on harsh, mechanical, transgressive or provocative sounds and themes. AllMusic defines industrial music as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music" that was "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments (tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation". The term was coined in the mid-1970s with the founding of Industrial Records by members of Throbbing Gristle and Monte Cazazza. While the genre name originated with Throbbing Gristle's emergence in the United Kingdom, artists and labels vital to the genre also emerged in the United States and other countries. Drowning Craze
Drowning Craze was a London-based post-punk band, active from 1980 to 1982. History Forming in 1980, Drowning Craze began as an instrumental trio of bassist Simon Raymonde, guitarist Paul Cummins and drummer Simon Godfrey. Their influences included Wild Swans, Delta 5, the Pop Group, A Certain Ratio, 23 Skidoo, the Fire Engines and Public Image Ltd. Situation Two founder Peter Kent heard the group's demos and put them in contact with Angela Jaeger, a New York-born vocalist who had moved to London to study voice and musical theatre. One week later, this line-up recorded the band's debut 7" single, "Storage Case", produced by Raymonde's brother, Nick Raymonde. Pigface Members
Pigface is an American industrial rock supergroup formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and William Rieflin. History Pigface was formed from Ministry's ''The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste'' tour, which produced the ''In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up'' live album and video. For the tour, Al Jourgensen brought Atkins, Nivek Ogre and Chris Connelly. Also on the tour was Rieflin, regular Ministry drummer at the time. While Atkins enjoyed the dynamic of playing with a second drummer, he felt that the lineup was capable of doing much more than being, what he has frequently called, "a Ministry cover band." Once the tour was over, Atkins and Rieflin decided to continue working together and recruited several of their tourmates. William Tucker (musician)
William Tucker (1961 – May 14, 1999) was an American guitarist whose credits included work with Ministry (band), Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Pigface, Chemlab, and Chris Connelly (musician), Chris Connelly. He grew up in New Jersey, where he formed Regressive Aid with Andrew Weiss (guitarist), Andrew Weiss and Sim Cain (both later of Gone (band), Gone and the Rollins Band). He also taught the guitar to locals, one of whom was Dean Ween, Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo of the alternative band Ween. After the release of the single "(Ever Since I Was Young) I Love the Sound of Machines" with the Swinging Pistons in 1986, he came to the attention of Ministry's Al Jourgensen, who invited him to join his band for their "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste" tour in 1989. After a year of touring with Ministry, Tucker became a much sought-after musician. Fred Giannelli
Fred Giannelli (born 1960 in Lowell, Massachusetts) is an American electronic musician. He began experimenting with electronics in the 1970s as Turning Shrines. In 1984, Giannelli met Psychic TV's Genesis P. Orridge while the group was in Boston for a gig. This led to Giannelli eventually travelling to London to join the band in 1988, arriving just in time for the acid house craze. He then left Psychic TV for the Plus 8 label, working with Detroit DJ and producer Richie Hawtin as Spawn. Continuing under the Plus 8 label, he formed the Telepathic label for his own industrial/techno recordings as the Acid Didj, Giannelli, Deneuve and Mazdaratti. The 1990s saw him release a number of records, including 1997's ''Unpopular Science'' under the alias of the Kooky Scientist. Buzz McCoy (born Marston Daley) is one of the founding members of industrial disco band My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. History Buzz McCoy and friend Groovie Mann (Frankie Nardiello) had been working together on a film titled ''Hammerhead Housewife and the Thrill Kill Kult'' in 1987. The film was never finished, but the title inspired the name of their new band, and its soundtrack was released as an EP with Wax Trax! Records. In 1991, McCoy collaborated with KMFDM founder Sascha Konietzko to work on another musical project, Excessive Force. They released one album before parting ways, though Konietzko went on to release another album without McCoy. In 2001, McCoy and Mann formed SleazeBox Records as a vehicle for their side projects.
