Cedar City is the largest city in Iron County, Utah, United States. It is located south of Salt Lake City, and north of Las Vegas on Interstate 15. It is the home of Southern Utah University, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Summer Games, the Simon Fest Theatre Co., and other events. John Batdorf
John Batdorf (born March 26, 1952) is an American singer and songwriter from Yellow Springs, Ohio. He is the son of Jack and Nancy Batdorf, and nephew of Earl Batdorf, aka Earl Scott, a Country singer who charted several hits during the mid-1960s. On 14 August 1976 edition of American Top 40, Casey Kasem reported that although Batdorf came from a musical family, he had originally aspired to play professional baseball. However, these dreams were crushed following his being stricken with osteomyelitis (OM), an infection of the bones, at age 11. It was necessary for him to be in a full-body cast for a year, and he was told that he would never be able to play competitive sports again. Out of boredom he picked up a guitar and began to learn, and then the piano, giving him a new set of musical aspirations. Batdorf's musical career began in 1967 after moving to Los Angeles. Cale Tyson is an American indie/folk musician originally from Fort Worth, Texas, now based out of Nashville, Tennessee. In 2013, Tyson released his EP High on Lonesome and another EP Cheater’s Wine in 2014. ''Rolling Stone'' wrote that the two EP’s “have documented his version of mournful Texas twang, where the steel guitar does the wailing and honky-tonk vamps keep it danceable instead of dreary.” In March 2017, Tyson released a special edition compilation vinyl featuring songs from his two previous EPs High on Lonesome and Cheater's Wine titled Introducing Cale Tyson. Thomas Wayne Hancock III (born May 1, 1965, in Dallas, Texas) better known as Wayne "The Train" Hancock, is an American singer-songwriter. Hancock is known as "The King of Juke Joint Swing," because his sound is unique, as he incorporates jazz, big band, western swing, country and rockabilly, styles of music that he began listening to as a kid. His influences include Jimmie Rodgers, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Hank Thompson, Hank Williams and Hank Snow because they were all in his parents' record collection. Vince Herman is a guitarist and singer-songwriter best known for being one of the founding members of Leftover Salmon. Leftover Salmon started in 1989 as somewhat of a melding of the Left Hand String Band and the Salmonheads, and became more and more popular over the sixteen years that followed. The band decided to go their separate ways in 2005, but still play together (billed as Leftover Salmon) on occasion. Since the hiatus, Herman formed a new band named Great American Taxi, who released their debut album in 2007. GAT toured extensively and garnered a following, with hijinks such as joining Peter Rowan on stage and playing a Ficus tree for Moonalice.
