Groot Agelo
Groot Agelo is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 9 km north of Oldenzaal. It was first mentioned in 1252 as "Wicherus et Ludolfus filius suus de Agelo". The etymology is unclear. It is called Groot (Big) to distinguish from Klein Agelo (Little). Since 2009, both hamlets are listed under Agelo. It has a elementary school named 'n Boaken. The people of Klein Agelo and Groot Agelo, places called together as just 'Agelo', go to church in Ootmarsum. Twente
Twente ( nl, Twente , Tweants dialect: ''Tweante'') is a region in the eastern Netherlands. It encompasses the most urbanised and easternmost part of the province of Overijssel. Twente is most likely named after the Tuihanti or Tvihanti, a Germanic tribe that settled in the area and was mentioned by the Roman historian Tacitus. Low German House
The Low German house or ''Fachhallenhaus'' is a type of timber-framed farmhouse found in northern Germany and the easternmost Netherlands, which combines living quarters, byre and barn under one roof. It is built as a large hall with bays on the sides for livestock and storage and with the living accommodation at one end. The Low German house appeared during the 13th to 15th centuries and was referred to as the Low Saxon house (''Niedersachsenhaus'') in early research works. Until its decline in the 19th century, this rural, agricultural farmhouse style was widely distributed through the North German Plain, all the way from the Lower Rhine to Mecklenburg. Even today, the ''Fachhallenhaus'' still characterises the appearance of many north German villages. Ootmarsum is a city in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 10 km north of Oldenzaal. In 2001, the city of Ootmarsum had 4227 inhabitants. Klein Agelo
Klein Agelo is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 10 km north of Oldenzaal and very close to Ootmarsum. It was first mentioned in 1408 as "Luttiken Agele". It is called Klein (Little) to distinguish from Groot Agelo (Big). Since 2009, both hamlets are listed under Agelo. Klein Agelo is mentioned on direction signs, however there are no place name signs to indicate that you have arrived in the hamlet. Oldenzaal
Oldenzaal (; Tweants: ''Oldnzel'') is a municipality and a city in the eastern province of Overijssel in the Netherlands. It is part of the region of Twente and is close to the German border. It received city rights in 1249. Historically, the city was part of the Hanseatic League as a subsidiary city of the fellow Hanseatic city of Deventer. Located on the A1 motorway from Amsterdam to Germany, Oldenzaal also has a rail connection to Hengelo and Bad Bentheim. As of 1 January 2019, 31,885 people lived in Oldenzaal.
