Grogan Medal
The Grogan Medal is an Australian rules football award given to the best and fairest player in home and away rounds of each season's Queensland State League (Australian rules football), QAFL/Queensland State League competition. From 2011 to present it is awarded to the best and fairest player in the North East Australian Football League Northern Conference. Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. Throwing the ball is not allowed, and players must not get caught holding the ball. Mick Stinear
Michael Stinear (born 8 August 1984) is a former Australian rules football player and current coach who serves as the head coach of the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's. Early life Stinear was born on 8 August 1984, and played his junior and some senior football (as a junior) for the Beaconsfield Football Club. He played under-18s football for the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. Playing career Stinear was drafted by Carlton with pick 62 in the 2003 rookie draft. He spent 2003 on the Blues' list without playing a game, before moving to Queensland to play with the Mount Gravatt Football Club. The Sherwood Magpies Australian Football Club is the senior Australian rules football club of the western suburbs of Brisbane which competes in Division One of the AFLQ State League. Zane Taylor (footballer)
Zane Taylor (born 28 February 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong Football Club, Geelong in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL) during the early 1980s. He spent time as a forward and midfielder during his career but it was as a half back flanker that he made the official "Queensland Team of the Century" in 2003. Although he had only just turned 23 when he started out at Geelong during the 1980 VFL season, Taylor was already a multiple "Best and Fairest" winner for Southport Australian Football Club, Southport. Coorparoo Football Club
Coorparoo Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo from 1935 until the senior club folded in 1995. The club left the QAFL following the 1993 season due to the financial strain experienced since the recent introduction of a minimum salary cap, and joined the Brisbane Australian Football League (BAFL) for the 1994 and 1995 seasons. The "Coorparoo Junior Australian Football Club" has continued as a stand-alone club since 1996 to the present. Greg Packham
Greg Packham (born 1 March 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. From Ballarat, Packham started his career at St Kilda in 1982 and kicked 24 goals from 12 appearances that year. He played just five further games for St Kilda and finished with an unusual statistic of having kicked at least one goal in every one of his 17 league games. The red haired forward then returned to his original club Redan and in 1981 won the Henderson Medal, awarded to the best and fairest player in the Ballarat Football League. Mayne Australian Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Enoggera. The club colours are black and gold and they are nicknamed the Tigers. It is the most successful club in the history of the Queensland Australian Football League, Queensland's highest level of competition, with 15 premierships from the 1920s to the 1980s. Craig Brittain
Craig Brittain (born 6 June 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Brittain, was born in Melbourne before moving to Cairns in his youth. He represented Queensland in the Teal Cup and was selected in the Under-18 tournament's "All-Australian" team. Although only 17, he was also a member of Windsor-Zillmere's QAFL premiership team that year. The following season he joined North Melbourne and captained their Under-19s side. He played five senior games in 1984, his third year at the club, but knee problems limited his opportunities. Chris O'Sullivan (born 22 April 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). O'Sullivan, a Victorian, was selected by Brisbane with the 72nd pick of the 1988 VFL Draft. He played eight games in 1989 but could only manage two more in 1990. David Crutchfield
David Crutchfield (2 August 1965 – 29 November 2002) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) Career Recruited from South Warrnambool, Crutchfield played in the final four rounds of the 1985 VFL season. His most productive game was against Geelong, when he had 17 disposals. He didn't make any further appearances and ended up in Queensland playing for Southport. In 1992 he was involved in a three-way tie for the Grogan Medal. Crutchfield was later a successful player coach in South Australia's Riverland Football League. Daryl Bourke (born 7 April 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s.
