Ann Grocott
Ann Oenone Grocott (born 1938) is an Australian writer and painter, whose two children's books have been translated into Swedish and Danish. In addition to figurative, portraiture and landscape painting, her artworks include: assemblages in fabric, cement, wood, found objects etc.; oils on canvas, paper and plaster; watercolours and small sculptures. In 1999, Grocott was one of five artists chosen to represent Australia in "Our World in the Year 2000", the Winsor and Newton Worldwide Millennium Exhibition, as a result of which her work appeared in London, Stockholm, Brussels and New York. Early life Ann Wood was born in 1938 in Glenelg, South Australia. Her father was the Australian painter, Noel Herbert Wood and her uncle, Rex Wood was an Australian painter/printmaker. Bruce Joseph Grocott, Baron Grocott Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, PC (born 1 November 1940) is a Labour Party (UK), Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. Early life Grocott was born in Kings Langley near Watford, and was educated at the University of Leicester. He obtained an Master of Arts, MA from Manchester University after conducting research on Local Government. He was appointed to the post of lecturer, and later a senior lecturer, at the City of Birmingham College of Commerce (later Birmingham Polytechnic, now Birmingham City University). During this time he was elected to Bromsgrove Urban District Council. From 1972 to 1974 he was a principal lecturer at Staffordshire University, North Staffordshire Polytechnic. Harold Grocott
Harold Grocott (9 March 1876 – 11 February 1960) was a New Zealand lawn bowls player who competed for his country at the 1934 British Empire Games. Early life and family Born in England, in the London district of St Pancras, on 9 March 1876, Grocott was the son of Joseph Henry Grocott and Hannah Dryden. He was baptised at Holy Trinity Church, Marylebone on 4 June 1876. In 1877, the family emigrated to New Zealand, where Joseph and Hannah were married the same year. Harold's younger brother, Horace, was born in Napier in 1880, and soon after, they moved to Dunedin. On 4 March 1901, Harold Grocott married Elizabeth Bazley at First Church, Dunedin. The couple went on to have one son—Eric Harold Grocott, who was appointed a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for community service in the 1979 New Year Honours—and one daughter. Kevin James Grocott (born 31 July 1992) is an English association footballer who plays as a right back or Midfield for Mickleover Sports. Playing career Grocott spent time in a youth teams of both Derby County F.C. and Notts County F.C. before he signed with Burton Albion F.C. In May 2010 he signed his first professional contract with a club. He made his debut on 11 September 2010,as substitute replacing Aaron Webster 40 minutes into a 3–3 draw with Rotherham United F.C.at a Don Valley Stadium. At the point he entered the game Burton were losing 3–0. On 31 January 2011 Grocott joined Vauxhall Motors F.C. for a month's loan.
