Ken Grimwood
Kenneth Milton Grimwood (February 27, 1944 – June 6, 2003) was an American author, who also published work under the name of Alan Cochran. In his fantasy fiction, Grimwood combined themes of life-affirmation and hope with metaphysical concepts, themes found in his best-known novel, ''Replay (Grimwood novel), Replay'' (1986). It won the 1988 World Fantasy Award for World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, Best Novel. Background Grimwood was born in Dothan, Alabama. His family moved to Pensacola, Florida, where he grew up. In his early years, Grimwood took an interest in EC Comics and radio journalism. He attended and graduated in 1961 from Indian Springs School, a private school near Birmingham, Alabama. That summer he went to Paris to study at the University of Paris, Sorbonne. He attended Emory University, Emory College in Atlanta from 1961 to 1963. Jon Courtenay Grimwood
Jon Courtenay Grimwood (born 1953 in Valletta, Malta) is a Maltese born British science fiction and fantasy author. He also writes literary fiction as Jonathan Grimwood, and crime fiction and thrillers as Jack Grimwood. Biography Grimwood was born in Valletta, Malta, grew up in Malta, Britain, Southeast Asia and Norway in the 1960s and 1970s. He studied at Kingston University, then worked in publishing and as a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers including ''The Guardian'', ''The Daily Telegraph'', ''The Times'', and ''The Independent''. Now writing a memoir and studying for a PhD at the University of St Andrews, he lives in Edinburgh and is married to the journalist and novelist Sam Baker, with a son, Jamie, from a previous marriage. Trout Fishing in America is an American musical duo from Texas. The members are Keith Grimwood (vocals, bass guitar, upright bass, fiddle) and Ezra Idlet (vocals, guitars, banjo, bouzouki). Both musicians were previously members of the folk rock band Wheatfield. They took their name from the novel ''Trout Fishing in America'' by Richard Brautigan. Jane Grimwood is a British microbiologist. Early life and education Grimwood was born in England. Her father was a chemist, and she always wanted to be a scientist as a child. Grimwood was awarded her B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. She did postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, University of San Francisco and Dartmouth College. Career Human Genome Project Grimwood was an important part of the Human Genome Project effort, working from the Stanford Human Genome Center. Grimwood stated, "I feel very lucky to have been a part of the Human Genome Project. It was arguably the best international collaborative project of our lifetime." Trevor Grimwood
Trevor Foster Grimwood (born 8 November 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Port Adelaide and West Adelaide in the SANFL. Grimwood's first attempt at a career in the SANFL was unsuccessful, he was on the books for Norwood in both 1965 and 1966 but didn't play a senior game. A rover, he got his second chance in 1971 when he was picked up by Port Adelaide with whom he would play 33 games over three years. In 1974 he crossed to West Adelaide and won their best and fairest award in 1976. His best season came the following season when he won the 1977 Magarey Medal by ten votes. Grimwood finished with 101 games for West Adelaide; he would have played more if he had not suffered from constant hamstring problems. John Grimwood
John Barton Grimwood (25 October 1898 – 1977) was an English footballer who played as a half-back. He joined Manchester United in May 1919, and made his debut for the club in the first Manchester derby on 11 October 1919, as a replacement for Lal Hilditch, who was away on international duty. Able to play in all three half-back positions, he was a utility player for the club. He helped United gain promotion to the First Division in the 1924-25 season. However, he suffered a knee injury for most of the next season, and needed to undergo an operation. In 1925-26, he played at centre-half regularly, sharing the position with Frank Barson. After scoring eight goals in 205 appearances for United, he left the club for Aldershot Town in June 1927. He later joined Blackpool and Altrincham.
