Grimston Park
Grimston Park is a grade II* listed Georgian country house in Grimston, North Yorkshire, England, some 1.7 miles (3 km) south of Tadcaster. Since being owned by the Isherwood family, it has been converted into a number of luxury homes. The house is built on two storeys of Tadcaster limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. It has a 7-bay frontage with a projecting portico, and a three-storey tower and a single-storey entrance lodge at each end. A limestone water tower in the grounds, designed like the house by Decimus Burton, is also grade II listed. History In the early 1600s the Grimston estate belonged to the Stanhope family. Pyotr Bagration
Prince Pyotr Ivanovich Bagration (10 July 1765 – 24 September 1812) was a Georgian general and prince serving in the Russian Empire, prominent during the Napoleonic Wars. Bagration, a member of the Bagrationi dynasty, was born in Tbilisi. His father, Ivan (Ivane), served as an officer in the Imperial Russian Army, in which Bagration also enlisted in 1782. Pyotr Ivanovich Bagration began his military career serving in the Russo-Circassian War of 1763–1864 for a couple of years. Afterwards he participated in a war against the Ottomans and the capture of Ochakov in 1788. Later he helped suppress the Kościuszko Uprising of 1794 in Poland and capture Warsaw. During Russia's Italian and Swiss campaigns of 1799 against the French, he served with distinction under Field Marshal Alexander Suvorov. In 1805 Russia joined the coalition against Napoleon. Temple Newsam
Temple Newsam (historically Temple Newsham), () is a Tudor- Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, just south of Halton Moor, Halton, Whitkirk and Colton. It is one of nine sites in the Leeds Museums & Galleries group. The house is a Grade I listed building, defined as a "building of outstanding or national architectural or historic interest". Middleton was a county constituency in the county of Lancashire of the House of Commons for the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Thomas Fielden (politician)
Thomas Fielden (1854 – 5 October 1897) was a British Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party politician. He was born at Todmorden, Lancashire, in 1854, eldest son of Joshua Fielden (politician), Joshua Fielden. His father, his grandfather John Fielden of Todmorden, and brother Edward Brocklehurst Fielden were also Members of Parliament. Fielden was educated at Wellington College (Berkshire), Wellington College and at Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1878 he married Martha, daughter of Thomas Knowles of Darn Hall, Cheshire, who was Member of Parliament for Wigan (UK Parliament constituency), Wigan Coincidentally, his brother, Edward, married another daughter of Knowles, Mary Ellen, later on in 1884.
