Grete Kirkeberg
Grete Jorunn Kirkeberg (born 3 September 1964) is a retired Norwegian long-distance runner who specialized in marathon races and cross-country running. She was on the Norwegian team who won the silver medal at the 1994 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, having finished 22nd in the individual race. Her highest place from the IAAF World Cross Country Championships was a fifteenth place from 1986. In the team competition there she finished sixth in 1987. She finished 21st in 10,000 metres at the 1986 European Championships and sixteenth in the marathon at the 1997 World Championships. Grete Waitz (, 1 October 195319 April 2011) was a Norwegian marathon runner and former world record holder. In 1979, at the New York City Marathon, she became the first woman in history to run the marathon in under two and a half hours. Waitz won nine New York City Marathons, women's division, between 1978 and 1988, the highest number of victories in a single big city marathon in history. She won the silver medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and a gold medal at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki. Grete Rikko (born Grete Rindskopf; 1908–1998) was a German-American abstract expressionist who lived most of her life in New York. She was the sister of musicologist Fritz Rikko. Education and early career Rikko was born in Germany and studied painting at the Volkswangschule in Essen. In 1928, she relocated to Paris and enrolled in the Académie Ranson. In Paris, Rikko studied under Roger Bissière and André Derain and participated in several group exhibitions. In 1933, she relocated to Belgrade, Yugoslavia, where she held several solo exhibitions. Grete Ayache (born 12 March 1982 in Tallinn, Estonia), born as Grete Püvi, is an Estonian dressage rider. Representing Estonia, she competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and at the 2011 European Dressage Championship. She placed 61st place in individual dressage at the 2011 Europeans held in Rotterdam. She retired her Grand Prix horse, Talent, from the competition in 2016. The horse had been previously ridden by Bernard Bosseaux. In 2017 she won 3rd place in the FEI World Cup Dressage Central European League Freestyle competition. Grete Ingeborg Nykkelmo (born 25 December 1961) is a former biathlete and cross-country skier from Norway. She competed in both events from 1982 to 1992. She won four medals at the 1985 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld with a gold in the 20 km, a silver in the 4 × 5 km relay, and bronzes in the 5 km and 10 km. At the 1991 Biathlon World Championships in Lahti, she won a gold medal in the 7.5 km sprint and silvers in the 15 km individual and the 3 × 7.5 km relay.
