''Get Even'' is a British teen thriller series that premiered on BBC iPlayer on 14 February 2020. The series was adapted by Holly Phillips from the book series ''Don't Get Mad'' by Gretchen McNeil, and focuses on a group of schoolgirls who form a group to expose bullies at their school. In August 2020, the series was acquired by Netflix and distributed internationally. In February 2022, BBC premiered a spin-off series, '' Rebel Cheer Squad''. Premise Kitty Wei, Bree Deringer, Margot Rivers and Olivia Hayes form DGM (Don't Get Mad) to expose the bullies at their school. However, when one of their targets is murdered by an unknown attacker and holds a note saying "DGM" in his hand, the girls realise somebody is trying to frame them for his murder. Jack Derges is a British actor known for portraying the role of Andy Flynn in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. Catfishing is a deceptive activity in which a person creates a fictional persona or fake identity on a social networking service, usually targeting a specific victim. The practice may be used for financial gain, to compromise a victim in some way, as a way to intentionally upset a victim, or for wish fulfillment. Catfishing television shows have been produced, often featuring victims who wish to identify their catfisher. Celebrities have been targeted, which has brought press attention to catfishing practices. History Etymology The modern term originated from the 2010 American documentary ''Catfish''. Andrew Gunn (director)
Andrew Gunn is a British television director. He was born in Staffordshire and later grew up on Tyneside before attending film school in Surrey and Dorset. He has written and directed several award-winning short films in addition to work in popular television drama. His graduation film ''Mermaids'' starred a young Robson Green and won the Young Film-maker award at the Tyneside International Film Festival 1987. Gunn returned to the North East after film school and continued to write and direct short films, most of which were produced and set in Newcastle upon Tyne. ''Cafe au Lait'' won a regional Royal Television Society commendation in 1994.
