Greta Bodey
Greta Bodey (born 11 July 1995) is an Australian rules footballer playing for Hawthorn in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). Bodey was raised in Brisbane. She came to the sport much later than average after playing association football for much of her life for clubs including The Gap FC and aspired to play for the Matildas. First taking part in Australian rules in 2019, she played for Saints in Cairns while on placement and University of Queensland in the AFL Queensland Women's League before being selected by Brisbane as an other-sport rookie ahead of the 2020 AFLW season. Bodey made her AFLW debut in Brisbane's round 1 game against Adelaide at Hickey Park on 8 February 2020. The University of Queensland Australian Football Club (UQAFC) is an amateur Australian rules football club playing in thQFADivision 1, Division 4 anQAFLWLeague competitions, overseen by AFL Queensland. UQAFC home games are played at the University of Queensland's Playing Field 2, on the corner of Sir William MacGregor Drive and Thynne Road, St Lucia, Brisbane. Founded in 1956, the club collected the ''Red Lions'' moniker in reference to a pub in the Northern New South Wales town of Glencoe. After travelling to Armidale to compete against the University of New England for the Clem Jones Shield UQ would frequent the Red Lion Tavern on their return journey, giving birth to the Red Lion legend. The Gap FC
The Gap FC is an Australian football (soccer) club from The Gap, a suburb of Brisbane. The club was formed in 1955, and currently competes in the Brisbane Premier League. The club's distinctive gold and purple colours have been with the club since its earliest days and derive from the name of the suburb (GAP – Gold and Purple). History The Gap Pastime Club was formed on 17 February 1955 as a multi-sports club with the main focus in its early years on cricket, soccer and softball. The club initially played its soccer at Jubilee Park, Bardon before moving to its current home, the Walton Bridge Reserve in 1959.
