Gresse Street is a street in London that is on the border between the City of Westminster and the London Borough of Camden, the north and eastern sides being in Camden and the rest in Westminster. The street is joined by Rathbone Place, Stephen Street and Stephen Mews. The street stands on land that was once owned by the family of the painter John Alexander Gresse. Stephen Street
Stephen Brian Street (born 29 March 1960 in Hackney, London) is an English music producer best known for his work with The Smiths, The Cranberries and Blur. Street collaborated with Morrissey on his debut album ''Viva Hate'' following the split of The Smiths. More recently he has worked with Kaiser Chiefs, Babyshambles and The Courteeners. For a time, he was managed by Gail Colson's company Gailforce Management. In February 2020, Street received the award for Outstanding Contribution to UK Music at the Music Producer's Guild Awards. John Alexander Gresse
John Alexander Gresse (1741–1794), was an English painter and drawing-master. Early life Gresse was born in London in 1741. His father was a native of Rolle, on the Lake of Geneva, and owned a small property close to Oxford Street, on which the present streets, Stephen Street and Gresse Street, Rathbone Place, were built about 1771. Gresse studied drawing under Gerard Scotin, the engraver, and was one of the first students to work in the gallery of casts founded by the Duke of Richmond. In 1755, he obtained a premium at the Society of Arts for a drawing by a student under the age of fourteen years; further, in 1759, he gained three premiums for drawings and studies from the human figure. He was successful again in 1761 and 1762, obtaining in all nine premiums before attaining the age of twenty-one. The Fashion Retail Academy is a vocational training college in the Tottenham Court Road area of London, England. It was founded as a National Skills Academy in 2005 by M&S, Next, Experian, F&F and Arcadia, with funding from the UK government. Philip Green, chairman of the Arcadia Group, contributed between £5 million and £12 million. It opened in 2006 with about 200 students, and has since taught over 12,000 students. The Fashion Retail Academy trains people to work in head office roles within the fashion industry, working with over 140 UK brands and retailers to provide industry enrichment like work experience.
