Gregory Stuart Lake (10 November 1947 – 7 December 2016) was an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He gained prominence as a founding member of the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP). Born and brought up in Dorset, Lake began to play the guitar at the age of 12 and wrote his first song, " Lucky Man", at the same age. He became a full-time musician at 17, playing in several rock bands until his friend and fellow Dorset guitarist Robert Fripp invited him to join King Crimson as lead singer and bassist. They found commercial success with their influential debut album, ''In the Court of the Crimson King'' (1969). Lake left the band in 1970 and achieved significant success in the 1970s and beyond as the singer, guitarist, bassist, and producer of ELP. ''Greg Lake'' is the debut studio album by English rock singer and guitarist Greg Lake, released in the United Kingdom on 25 September 1981 by Chrysalis Records. The album Background In contrast to the progressive rock of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, the groups which Lake had been member of, this album is characterized by a guitar-driven straightforward hard rock sound. The change in musical style is explained by his desire to perform as a guitarist rather than playing bass. To record the album, Lake teamed up with a string of prominent musicians, including Gary Moore, Clarence Clemons, and Toto members Steve Lukather, David Hungate and Jeff Porcaro. Moore played a major role including writing the song, "Nuclear Attack". In 1993, when the album was finally released on CD (in Japan), it was re-titled ''Greg Lake & Gary Moore''. Greg Lake (born 1960 as Gregory Alan Whaley) has been a Florida radio personality for nearly 20 years. Early life and career He was born in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. and moved to Florida in the late 1970s to attend Flagler College in St. Augustine, where he met and married his wife, Kathy. Moving to South Florida, he launched his radio career at WKGR 98.7 (Ft. Pierce, Florida) where he stayed until the station was sold. He then followed the entire on-air staff to then WAKS-FM 103.7 (Fort Myers, Florida) where they stayed until it too was eventually sold. Once again, the entire on-air staff returned to the east coast of Florida to take over WZZR 92.7 (Port St. Lucie, Florida) where he continued his program ''The Dead Zone'' until the end of 1994 when he took over the morning drive show. The first series of ''Geordie Shore'', a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 24 May 2011 on MTV. The series concluded on 12 July 2011 after 6 episodes and 2 specials including a reunion show hosted by Russell Kane and an episode counting down the best bits of the series. From 23 August 2011 until 30 August 2011, 2 Magaluf specials aired on MTV, however these episodes are featured on the series 2 DVD. The series included the turbulent relationship of Holly (who entered in the house three days late) with Dan coming to an end, the beginning of Gaz and Charlotte's ongoing love/hate relationship, and Jay and Vicky's rocky relationship.
