Gregory Kelly
John Gregory Kelly (born February 15, 1956) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, serving as an auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Dallas in Texas since 2016. Biography Born in Le Mars, Iowa, Kelly attended Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1978 and his Master of Divinity For graduate-level theological institutions, the Master of Divinity (MDiv, ''magister divinitatis'' in Latin) is the first professional degree of the pastoral profession in North America. The hierarchy of the Catholic Church consists of its bishops, priests, and deacons. In the ecclesiological sense of the term, "hierarchy" strictly means the "holy ordering" of the Church, the Body of Christ, so to respect the diversity of gifts and ministries necessary for genuine unity (). In canonical and general usage, it refers to those who exercise authority within a Christian church. In the Catholic Church, authority rests chiefly with the bishops, while priests and deacons serve as their assistants, co-workers or helpers.
