Gregg Stumon
Greg Stumon (born May 26, 1963) is a former award-winning defensive end and linebacker who played the Canadian Football League. A native of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, he attended the Southern Arkansas University, and was inducted into that school's Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. He began his CFL career with the BC Lions in 1986, playing until 1988. He won the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in 1987 in sports, 1987. He made the 1987_CFL_season#Defence, 1987 all-star team as a defensive end and the 1988_CFL_season#Defence, 1988 all-star team as an outside linebacker. After one season with the Edmonton Eskimos (1989) he moved on to the Ottawa Rough Riders (1990–92) where he made the 1990_CFL_season#Defence, 1990 all-star team as a defensive end. He later played with the expansion Shreveport Pirates for 1994 and 1995. He trialled with the Dallas Cowboys in 1990 but was cut before the season started. Plain Dealing, Louisiana
Plain Dealing is a town in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 893 in 2020. It is part of the Shreveport–Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Prior to 1839, the United States government forcibly removed the Caddo Nation of Native Americans—longtime local inhabitants who had first settled the area over 1,000 years before Europeans' 16th-century arrival in mainland North America—from the area of Northern Louisiana that included the parcel that would later become the town of Plain Dealing. In 1839, George Oglethorpe Gilmer and his son, James Blair Gilmer, bought 5,000 acres of this land—now described as a "vast, unsettled wilderness"—from the United States government, calling a portion of this acreage "Plain Dealing" after the family's Virginia plantation.
