Greg Thompson
Gregory Francis Thompson, (March 28, 1947 – September 10, 2019) was a Canadian politician who served six terms as a Member of Parliament (MP), and for one term he represented the district of Saint Croix in the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly, from 2018 until 2019. Political career Thompson was formerly a high school history teacher at Fundy High School from 1975–1980. Thompson, a high school teacher, a businessman and financial planner was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1988 Canadian federal election as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. He was elected in the riding of Carleton—Charlotte. His bid for re-election in the 1993 Canadian federal election was unsuccessful and he was defeated by Harold Culbert of the Liberal Party of Canada by fewer than 1,000 votes. Gregg Thompson
Gregg Thompson (born August 4, 1960) is an American former soccer player. He played as a defender who was the 1983 North American Soccer League Rookie of the Year. He was also voted team MVP (by his teammates) and the most Popular Player (by the fans) during his rookie year while playing for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He spent two seasons in the NASL and four in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1984 to 1986 and participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics. Thompson earned twelve caps with the United States national team. High school and college Thompson spent his early youth in California before moving to Stillwater, Minnesota when he was fourteen. Greg Thompson (born November 25, 1950) is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as head football coach at coach of the Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1981 to 1994 and Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from 2006 to 2008, compiling career college football record of 70–92–4. Thompson was also the athletic director at Morris Brown from 1982 to 1995 and interim athletic director at Stillman from October 2004 to June 2005 and again from January through July 2007. In November 1981, Thompson was named interim head coach for the final game of the season following the suspension of Lambert Reed for striking a player with an ax handle. Gregg D. Thompson of Brisbane, Australia is an amateur astronomer. Astronomy Gregg Thompson was one of the founding members of the Southern Astronomical Society (SAS). Before 1981 he started making a set of charts of bright galaxies, designed to help deep sky observers in their search for extragalactic supernovae. In 1985 he received the Amateur Achievement Award of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, together with Robert Owen Evans, who had made several supernova discoveries using Thompson's charts. Evans wrote that the number of galaxies he was able to observe grew substantially after the charts were produced. Gregg Thompson also helped verify some of Evans' discoveries. Gregory Edwin Thompson (born 1956) is a retired Australian Anglican bishop. From 2014 to 2017 he was the Bishop of Newcastle. He was previously, from 2007 to 2013, the Bishop of the Northern Territory. Early life and education Thompson was born in Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia. He studied at the University of Newcastle. He trained for ordained ministry at Ridley College, an Evangelical Anglican theological college in Melbourne. Ordained ministry Thompson was ordained in 1986. From 1988 to 1994, he was Parish Priest of Darwin in the Northern Territory. Then, from 1994 to 1999, he was the New South Wales State Secretary of the Bush Church Aid Society. Greg James Thompson (born 17 September 1987) is an Irish cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler. He has played for Ireland since 2004, playing for the full squad before reverting to play for the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 teams respectively from 2005 onwards. He is at Royal School Armagh.
