Greg Richardson
Greg Richardson (born February 7, 1958) is a former Professional boxing, professional boxer who was World Boxing Council, WBC Bantamweight Champion between February 25, 1991, and September 19, 1991. Early life, family and education Richardson was born in Youngstown, Ohio, Youngstown, Ohio. He was raised on its East Side. Other members of Richardson's family have excelled in sports. He is an uncle of former Florida Gators football, Florida Gators cornerback Keiwan Ratliff and light middleweight boxer Durrell Richardson. He began boxing in the late 1960s. is a former World Boxing Council (WBC) world bantamweight champion from Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan. His record is 20–7–1 (14 KOs). He is popular for his fight style and unique personality, and has appeared in several television variety shows. He is named after Joe Yabuki, the main character of the boxing anime, ''Ashita no Joe'' (''Tomorrow's Joe''). Jose 'Gaby' Canizales (born May 1, 1960) is an American former professional boxer who won the Lineal championship in the bantamweight division. Early life Canizales was born in Laredo in Webb County, Texas. Pro career Canizales turned pro in 1979 and in 1983 challenged Jeff Chandler for the World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight title but lost a decision. In 1986 he landed a shot at Richie Sandoval for the Lineal and WBA bantamweight title. Ellyas Pical (born 24 March 1960) was the first world boxing champion from Indonesia, and was three times IBF Super flyweight champion (1985–1989). Life and career In his childhood, Pical was a pearl diver, diving without equipment. Pical is of Ambonese/Moluccan heritage. Pical's nickname "The Exocet" was given by the press referring to his left-hand punch. The name comes from the French-made missiles used to against the Royal Navy by the Argentine Air Force during the Falklands War, which happened in 1982 during Pical's era. Victor Manuel Rabanales (born December 23, 1962) is a Mexican former professional boxer. He is a former WBC bantamweight Champion. He was trained by Boxing Hall of Famer Ignacio Beristáin.
