Greg Reynolds
Gregory Adam Reynolds (born July 3, 1985) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Reds. Amateur career Reynolds was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies out of Terra Nova High School in the 41st round of the 2003 MLB Draft, but he instead decided to attend Stanford University. In 2004 and 2005, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was then selected by the Colorado Rockies as the second overall selection in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft. Professional career Colorado Rockies Reynolds made his Major League Baseball debut on May 11, , in a 6-1 road loss against the San Diego Padres. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. One of the nation's premier collegiate summer leagues, the league boasts over one thousand former players who have gone on to play in the major leagues. Louisville Bats
The Louisville Bats are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. They are located in Louisville, Kentucky, and are named in dual reference to the bat, winged mammal and baseball bats, such as those manufactured locally under the Louisville Slugger brand. Chad Tracy (baseball, Born 1985)
Chad Samuel Tracy (born July 4, 1985) is an American professional baseball manager and former player. He is currently the manager of the Worcester Red Sox. He played college baseball at Pepperdine University then played professionally from 2006 to 2014, primarily as a first baseman. He also competed for the United States national baseball team. Playing career High school and college Tracy attended Claremont High School in Claremont, California, then Pepperdine University, where he played college baseball for the Pepperdine Waves baseball team in the West Coast Conference (WCC) of the NCAA Division I. David Thomas Bush (born November 9, 1979) is an American professional baseball coach and former pitcher. He is currently the pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). The right-hander played in MLB (–; ) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers. Bush also played for the SK Wyverns of the KBO League in 2012. In baseball, a double is the act of a batter striking the pitched ball and safely reaching second base without being called out by the umpire, without the benefit of a fielder's misplay (see error) or another runner being put out on a fielder's choice. In baseball, softball, and similar games, an inning is the basic unit of play, consisting of two halves or frames, the "top" (first half) and the "bottom" (second half). In each half, one team bats until three outs are made, with the other team playing defense. A full baseball game is typically scheduled for nine innings, while softball games consist of seven innings; although this may be shortened due to weather or extended if the score is tied at the end of the scheduled innings. Hit (baseball)
In baseball statistics, a hit (denoted by H), also called a base hit, is credited to a batter when the batter safely reaches or passes first base after hitting the ball into fair territory with neither the benefit of an error nor a fielder's choice. Scoring a hit To achieve a hit, the batter must reach first base before any fielder can either tag him with the ball, throw to another player protecting the base before the batter reaches it, or tag first base while carrying the ball.
