Greg Rayl
Gregory S. Rayl (pronounced "rail", born November 20, 1963) is an American professional stock car racing driver and crew chief. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, driving the No. 0 Chevrolet Silverado for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing and the No. 32 Toyota Tundra for Reaume Brothers Racing. He has 32 career starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, most of which came as an owner-driver for GSR Racing. Racing career A native of Salida, California, Rayl's first NASCAR action came in 1993 with the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour at Stockton 99 Speedway; he finished 16th after crashing on lap 49. In 2008, he began racing part-time in the NASCAR Camping World West Series; two years later, he ran a full schedule in the now-K&N Pro Series West in the No. 07 Ford, finishing 12th in the standings. The Toyota Tundra is a pickup truck manufactured in the United States by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota since May 1999. The Tundra was the second full-size pickup to be built by a Japanese manufacturer (the first was the Toyota T100), but the Tundra was the first full-size pickup from a Japanese manufacturer to be built in North America. Start-and-park
Start and park is a term used in auto racing, particularly in NASCAR-sanctioned races, to describe the practice of racing teams starting races but pulling the car off the track after just a few laps in order to collect prize money while avoiding expenses such as replacement tires, engine wear and tear, and hiring a pit crew. The practice has existed due to the relatively high purse for even a back-of-the-pack finish, as well as the high costs of fielding a car for an entire race. While start-and-park entries occasionally act as "field fillers" (a term typically used outside of NASCAR when a small number of teams show up to a racetrack), the practice is criticized in instances when they take spots away from teams intending to run the full race. In some cases, a team will use a start-and-park car to help fund another competitive car in the same or a different series. Jayski's Silly Season Site is a web site focusing primarily on NASCAR news and rumors. The website was founded by Jay "Jayski" Adamczyk in 1996 after he had difficulty finding news regarding the Melling Racing team, and subsequently worked to get all NASCAR news grouped together on the site. The site was purchased from Adamczyk by ESPN in 2007; after ESPN shut the site down in January 2019, Adamczyk reacquired the rights to Jayski-related properties in April 2019 and rolled out a limited version of the new website with a full launch occurring on May 13, 2019. Cassie Gannis
Cassie Gannis (born April 7, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Racing career Gannis started racing in quarter midgets in 1999; from 1999–2003, she recorded 15 top fives in 18 races. In 2005, she started Legends car racing, and two years later, began racing super late models. At Tucson Raceway Park, she was the youngest female driver to race at the track. From 2009–2011, Gannis was named a member of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. In 2010, she ran a USAR Pro Cup Series race at Langley Speedway, suffering mechanical problems and failing to complete a lap. The ARCA Menards Series West, formerly the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR AutoZone West Series, NASCAR Winston West Series and NASCAR Camping World West Series, is a regional stock car racing series owned and operated by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour
The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series (originally NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour) was a late model stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR that was held in the Southwestern United States. The original NASCAR Southwest Tour began in 1985 and ran until NASCAR discontinued the Elite Division in 2006. The cars feature a perimeter frame chassis where rails of equal lengths must kick out, compared to the more modern offset chassis where one side is straight and one side kicks out. They weigh 2,900 pounds and have a fiberglass body.
