Greg McFadden
Gregory James McFadden (born 28 August 1964 in Sydney) is an Australian water polo player. He represented Australia as a member of the 1992 Summer Olympics Australia men's national water polo team. He was head coach of the Australia women's national water polo team from 2005 to 2016. Personal McFadden was born on 28 August 1964 in Sydney. He is nicknamed Dumper. Player McFadden played club water polo for the Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club. He later was a coach for the several different grades in the club. McFadden had a water polo scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) for two years where he was coached by Charles Turner. He was a member of the Australia men's national water polo team and represented the country at the 1992 Summer Olympics. His team finished fifth. 2014 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup
The 2014 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup was the 16th edition of the event, organised by the world's governing body in aquatics, the International Swimming Federation (FINA). The event took place in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from 12 to 17 August 2014. The United States won the gold medal by defeating Australia 10-6 in the final. Spain captured bronze, beating China 7-5. The water polo tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 20 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre in Barra da Tijuca. Twenty teams (twelve for men and eight for women) competed in the tournament. Games that ended in ties in elimination rounds were decided by shootouts, as overtime has been abolished since 2013. The water polo tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom was held at the London 2012 Water Polo Arena in the Olympic Park from 29 July to 12 August. The venue's capacity held 5,000 spectators. Twelve teams competed in the men's tournament and eight teams in the women's tournament. Qualification Both of Great Britain's teams automatically qualified, while the African qualification tournament was cancelled due as no teams entered, increasing the available spots at each final qualification tournament to four. Melissa Rippon
Melissa Alison Rippon (born 20 January 1981 in Sydney) is an Australian water polo player. Her sister is Rebecca Rippon and her step-sister is Kate Gynther, both of whom have been members of Australia's national water polo team and competed at the Olympics. She plays for the Brisbane Barracudas who compete in the National Water Polo League. She represented Australia in water polo at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics and at the 2012 Summer Olympics winning bronze medals at both of the latter two.
