Greg Jein
Greg Jein (born October 31, 1945 in Los Angeles, USA; died May 22, 2022) was a Chinese American model designer who created miniatures for use in the special effects portions of many films and television series, beginning in the 1970s. Jein was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his work on the films ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'' (1977) and ''1941'' (1979), and also nominated for an Outstanding Special Visual Effects Emmy for his work on ''Angels in America''. Biography One of Jein's first jobs was building models for the sex comedy spoof ''Flesh Gordon'', this was followed by work on a number of television series, commercials and movies including ''Wonder Woman'' and ''The UFO Incident''. ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'' is a 1977 American science fiction film written and directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dillon, Teri Garr, Bob Balaban, Cary Guffey, and François Truffaut. It tells the story of Roy Neary, an Everyman, everyday blue-collar worker in Indiana, whose life changes after an encounter with a UFO. Richard Yuricich (born December 1942) is a special visual effects artist. He is the brother of Matthew Yuricich, also a special effects artist. Yuricich is of Croatian descent. He has been nominated for an Academy Award three times. Andrew Probert
Andrew Probert (born 1946 in Independence, Missouri) is an American artist. He is known for his work with the ''Star Trek'' franchise, most notably the designs of the USS ''Enterprise'' for '' Star Trek: The Motion Picture'' and the ''Enterprise''-D for '' Star Trek: The Next Generation''. After spending some time in the United States Navy, Probert studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His first film/TV work was on Glen A. Ridley Scott
