Greg Davis (American Football Coach)
Greg Davis (born April 25, 1951)Lane (1982), p. 22-23. is a former American college football coach. He served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes football team until announcing his retirement on January 6, 2017 . He served as offensive coordinator for the 2005 national champion Texas Longhorns, where he was awarded the Broyles Award for the nation's top assistant coach for the 2005 season. Playing career Davis attended Port Neches–Groves High School and then played quarterback at McNeese State University, where he first met R. C. Slocum. He played in the Grantland Rice Bowl in 1971, losing to Tennessee State 26–23. He graduated from McNeese State in 1973. Groves, Texas
Groves is a city in Jefferson County, Texas, United States. The population was 17,335 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Beaumont– Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. History In 1886, Sam Courville moved his family from a Sabine Lake settlement in Port Arthur to a new home on of land. It was in that same general area around 1911 that John Warne Gates purchased additional tracts of land. The land was conveyed to the Griffing brothers of Port Arthur in 1916, and three years later Griffing Brothers Nursery employee Wiley Choate supervised the planting of several thousand pecan trees on a tract. In 1921, the Port Arthur Land Development Company took control of the site and divided the land into a residential subdivision known as "Pecan Grove". Mack Brown
William Mack Brown (born August 27, 1951) is an American college football coach. He is currently in his second stint as the head football coach for the University of North Carolina, where he first coached from 1988 until departing in 1997, when he left Chapel Hill to become head coach for the University of Texas. In 2018, Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Jackie Wayne Sherrill (born November 28, 1943) is a former American football player and coach. Tom Wilson (February 24, 1944 – August 10, 2016) was an American football player and coach. He served as a head coach at the high school and collegiate level. He was the head football coach at Texas A&M University team from 1978 to 1981. Playing career Wilson played quarterback at Corsicana High School under coach Jim Acree. He graduated in 1962. He played college football at Texas Tech University under coach J. T. King.
