The Crimson Avenger (Lee Walter Travis) is a superhero published by DC Comics. He first appeared in ''Detective Comics'' #20 (October 1938). He is the first superhero and costume hero published by ''Detective Comics''. He preceded Batman, and appeared in the same year after ''Action Comics'' #1 debuted characters like Superman, which led to the Golden Age of Comic Books. Green Lantern is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers, all of which come from imagination, fearlessness, and the electromagnetic spectrum of emotional willpower. The characters are typically depicted as members of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic law enforcement agency.
