Greg Bentley
Gregory Bentley (born 9 April 1987) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Recruited from Rosebud and the Dandenong Stingrays, he was placed on the Port Adelaide's rookie list but was upgraded to the senior list during 2006. Bentley played his first AFL game on 12 August 2006 against the in Darwin and kicked his first AFL goal with his first kick. He was allocated to Sturt in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) when not selected for Port Adelaide. Bentley was delisted by Port Adelaide at the end of 2008 after twenty-one games with the club. He was drafted as a rookie by the Carlton with its third selection (#37 overall) in the 2009 AFL rookie draft. He made his Carlton debut in Round 6, and played five games for the season, before being delisted at the end of the season. Rosebud, Victoria
Rosebud is a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, approximately south of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League
The Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (abbreviated "MPNFL") is an Australian rules football competition, governed by the AFL South East. The MPNFL contains teams near the south eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At the end of the 2017 season, the competition was restructured from a geographical to a divisional structure, with promotion/ relegation. It contains two divisions with 22 teams in all, 10 in Division 1 and 12 in Division 2. History The league was formed in 1987 upon the merger of the Mornington Peninsula FL and the Nepean FL. Football on the Peninsula region goes back to 1908, and in 2008 celebrated its centenary. The first league, the Peninsula FA, was formed in 1908. Sturt Football Club
The Sturt Football Club, nicknamed The Double Blues, is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in the suburb of Unley, South Australia, which plays in the South Australian National Football League. Founded in 1901 by the Sturt Cricket Club, the club initially struggled to make the finals, however, in 1915 they won their first Premiership. After several decades of substantial finals appearances and a few premiership wins, Sturt entered a period of success, winning seven premierships from 1966 to 1976 under coach Jack Oatey. Dandenong Stingrays
The Dandenong Southern Stingrays are an Australian rules football team in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition. 1992 saw the birth of the Southern Stingrays, developed under the leadership of Steve Kennedy (Regional Manager) and Ron Roach (Promotions Manager) with its home base located at Ben Kavanagh Reserve, Mordialloc, Victoria, Mordialloc. The side is coached in the inaugural year by Peter Russo. In 1995 the club moved from Mordialloc to Dandenong, Victoria, Dandenong and it also changed its name to the Dandenong Southern Stingrays. The club is currently under the leadership of Darren Flanigan (Region Talent Manager) and Matthew Crozier (Female Talent Coordinator) with the home base located at Shepley Oval, Dandenong.
