Greenwood is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Joondalup. The suburb is located 18 km from Perth's central business district. It is bordered by the Mitchell Freeway, Hepburn ave, Wanneroo road and Warwick road. History The Gold Land Development Corporation used the name ''Greenwood Forest'' as the promotional name of the estate which commenced development in the area in 1969. The reserve between the suburbs of Duncraig and Greenwood was used for the construction of the Mitchell Freeway in 1985-1986. Kingsley is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Hepburn Avenue
Hepburn Avenue is an arterial east-west road in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. The road links Sorrento in the west with Malaga and Whiteman in the east. It also connects the residential developments that span its length with several local facilities, as well as major road routes into central Perth. History The road was built in the 1980s to meet suburban demand and was originally proposed on the Metropolitan Region Scheme as a freeway. It was named after Alistair Hepburn (1915-2004), one of the drafters of the Scheme together with Professor Gordon Stephenson (1908–1997). Greenwood Railway Station
Greenwood railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network. It is located on the Joondalup line, from Perth station serving the suburb of Greenwood. History The station was originally proposed as the Hepburn station under the Northern Suburbs Transit System Masterplan in 1989 to coincide with the Hepburn Heights development. The master plan placed the station as a future station until demand of the railway and suburbs warranted the construction of the station. After being promised a number of times but not delivered, construction finally began in 2004 with the aim of reducing peak demand at the nearby Warwick and Whitfords stations, opening on 29 January 2005. Warwick Road
Warwick Road is an arterial east-west road located in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It was built in 1969 to service the Shire of Wanneroo parts of the Hamersley Development Scheme, which was later split into the suburbs of Duncraig, Warwick and Greenwood. Its original alignment, which was gazetted in 1949 as Road No. 10578 by the Wanneroo Road Board, was a straight east-west road extending to Alexander Drive, but in the mid-1970s, the alignment was altered southwards in the vicinity of the freeway alignment (the Mitchell Freeway was not, however, built until 1986), and in the late 1970s, the section east of Wanneroo Road was split off to form Marangaroo Drive. Whitfords Railway Station
Whitfords railway station is a railway station located on the boundary of Padbury and Kingsley, suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Joondalup railway line, which is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It is located in the median of the Mitchell Freeway, and consists of an elevated bus interchange on top of an island platform at ground level. South of Whitfords, trains run every 5 minutes during peak. North of Whitfords, trains run every 10 minutes during peak. Between peak during the day, trains run every 15 minutes. Warwick railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network. It is located on the Joondalup line, from Perth station serving the suburb of Warwick. History Prior to the commissioning of the site as a railway station, the location was originally a bus interchange known as the Warwick Bus Station. Opened in 1987, it was similar in design and appearance to facilities constructed at Mirrabooka and Rockingham for the same purpose. Transperth is the brand name of the public transport system serving the city and suburban areas of Perth, the state capital of Western Australia. Daniel Thomas Green (born 9 March 1973) is a former Australian professional boxer. He held the WBA light-heavyweight title from 2007 to 2008, the IBO cruiserweight title twice between 2009 and 2013, and the WBC interim super-middleweight title from 2003 to 2005. Amateur career and the Olympics As a teenager Green had tried martial arts and kickboxing, and had his first amateur boxing bout aged 20.
