Greentown is an unincorporated community in eastern Smithfield Township, Jefferson County, Ohio, United States. It lies approximately south of Smithfield, on a small road. Buckeye Local School District is a public school district based in Dillonvale, Ohio, United States. Rayland is a village in southern Jefferson County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 389 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Weirton–Steubenville metropolitan area. History Rayland was originally called Portland Station. A post office called Portland Station was established in 1871 giving the village its name. The village name was changed to Rayland in 1928.
